Yara’s Hopes and Dreams

I am a little girl, having dreams
I live somewhere in the world
And have a mother, father and brothers.

A childrens drawing
Mohammed, age five, drew the lovely hills around the village of Wadi Fouqin, where Yara lives.

Trying to learn from this life,
Wondering is there any part of love
Is there hatred and killing?
I need to have freedom and hope.
I love people and they got to love me.
I care for others so they got to care for me!

I want to enjoy playing with my little toy,
to go walking with no fear or cry.
I am a child and do not care
about elder’s affairs.
I want a teddy bear,
to hug while sleeping on the stair.

With a smile I care for my brother,
I don’t like seeing my grieving mother.
I like to dream for a better future,
And I don’t like killing or torture.

I love people everywhere;
I dislike those who find war and fear.
We can live in peace,
if we have wisdom and real love.

Pray for Yara and for other Palestinian children. Pray for the Israeli children and for their dreams, too.
